Middle Tennessee State University has teamed with Nelligan Sports Marketing, Inc. (NSM) to allow the Little Falls, New Jersey-based company to manage its exclusive athletics marketing rights.

“We’re extremely excited to partner with Nelligan Sports Marketing,” said Middle Tennessee State University Director of Athletics, Chris Massaro. “President McPhee, our coaches and athletic staff, and the entire university community have worked tirelessly to position MTSU to compete nationally at the highest levels, both academically and athletically. NSM’s team of high-level sales professionals and record of unprecedented success in maximizing sponsorship revenue will allow the MTSU Athletic Department to continue to fulfill its mission of promoting excellence in athletics, providing academic and athletic opportunities for every student-athlete, advancing the stature of the university on a regional and national level; and creating opportunities for innovative partnerships throughout the region.”

“We are excited to be working with Middle Tennessee State University,” said Mike Palisi, Senior Vice President, Nelligan Sports Marketing. “We have the greatest respect for Chris Massaro and his vision to advance the Middle Tennessee State athletic program. We look forward to working with the University, Chris, and his staff on building a fully integrated marketing platform for MTSU to deliver its message and extend the reach of the institution and its athletic program on a local, regional and national level. Given the history of the program, the strength of the Sun Belt Conference, and the strong, loyal and passionate alumni and fan base, we are looking forward to this great opportunity.”

MTSU joins a growing list of prominent colleges and universities nationwide that have initiated partnerships with national firms in order to build opportunities to attract more clients and maximize revenue. Nelligan Sports Marketing will play a lead role in helping Middle Tennessee reach local, regional and national advertisers, thus expanding the school’s marketing revenue stream. The firm will be responsible for coordinating the MTSU Radio Network, coaches’ shows, signage, game programs and other athletic promotional opportunities.
