Rutgers Announces Weekly Sports
Feature in New York Daily News
Little Falls, NJ – Rutgers Athletics and Nelligan Sports Marketing today announced a partnership with the New York Daily News to produce a weekly advertorial feature, the Scarlet Sheet, which will appear in the newspaper's Sports section on Wednesdays throughout the school year.

The Scarlet Sheet will provide current information on Rutgers sports, including features, a listing of radio/TV outlets that will feature game broadcasts, info for obtaining Scarlet Knights' fan gear, and other timely information. In addition to the Scarlet Sheet, the Daily News will "wrap" the paper with Rutgers "football-themed" content and distribute the special issues in mid-town Manhattan before each home football game.

"We are very excited by our partnership with Rutgers Athletics," said Bill Ward, Vice President of Circulation for the Daily News. "Rutgers has one of the best college athletic programs in the New York Metropolitan area, and the Daily News has the best local sports section of any New York newspaper. The Scarlet Sheet will provide unique content to readers looking for more information about Rutgers athletics throughout the school year."

"The Scarlet Sheet will be a one-of-a-kind opportunity to allow Rutgers Athletics to promote its programs for 40 weeks, as well as other initiatives that are important to the University," added Kevin MacConnell, Deputy Director of Athletics at Rutgers. "The Daily News' commitment to the Athletic Department confirms that Rutgers is New York's and New Jersey's college sports team.  We look forward to a long and productive partnership."

"We are thrilled to work with Rutgers and the New York Daily News on this unique partnership to provide exposure for Rutgers in one of the nation's largest newspapers, in the media capital of the world," said Tom Varga, Vice President, Nelligan Sports Marketing, Inc.
